9 miler

It seems like the weekends just fly by so quickly!! Friday morning I did a 9 mile run (I was scheduled for an 8 mile run this weekend but there was a chance of rain both Saturday and Sunday so I decided to do my long run on Friday). 9 miles!!! That is the longest distance I have ever ran!!!! Friday I still felt really good but Saturday I was tired and hungry most of the day. I did take a two hour nap on Saturday afternoon and that helped tremendously! Saturday I did some free weights at home and Sunday I did the elliptical and machine weights at the gym while Stephen worked. We didn't really do too much this weekend...Stephen leaves today for a quick trip to California to do a presentation, he'll be back tomorrow night, so he was getting ready for his trip.

Sunday the Marine Corps Marathon was going on in downtown DC and seeing some of the runners got me all excited for my half in December. I already can't wait to do the half and then start training for a full marathon!! Who would have ever thought that I would be so excited to run 26 miles?? Crazy.

Well, I have to get the program for this conference sent to the printers today and I don't feel like being at work so I'm going to get this program done and possibly go home early.

Today's Plan:
Activity: Mix of cardio at the gym this evening (elliptical, stairmaster, bike) and possibly a short run at lunch today--today's one of my cross training days but I also feel like running but now I feel like yoga too so I'll do something, I just don't know what
Breakfast: oatmeal with flax, raisins, banana, brown sugar, and peanut butter
Lunch: yogurt, carrot sticks, 2 clementines, bean soup, Arnold Sandwich Thins
Snack: 3 Cafe Mini Twists from Trader Joe's
Dinner: Stephen's out of town so it'll be shrimp and veggies with whole wheat pasta

Way 2 Go! 9 Miles is huge. A longer distance than I've run that's for sure.
